Environmental Science Programs
Want to develop an environmental science program/session within your outdoor courses?
I am able to deliver bespoke sessions addressing key environmental issues, such as climate change, pollution, biodiversity and ecology within an adventurous program. One such example is leading A-level environmental science students to conduct student-led research projects with The Bioasis, an outdoor provider based in Devon. In these programs I teach scientific skills such as study design (e.g. forming research questions and hypotheses, scientific methodologies), data collection (ecological sampling techniques) and data analysis (statistical approaches and interpretation).
Expedition Leading
Need an expedition leader with a specialism in ecological research?
As a Mountain Leader, Ski Instructor, Wildlife Guide, Bushcraft instructor, Forest Ecologist and advanced wilderness first aider, I have accumulated 10 years of experience of working with and leading groups in remote locations. With my academic training in forest ecology, I am able to lead groups in both UK-based and overseas expeditions and deliver specific instruction in ecological understanding, bushcraft, scientific fieldwork, and wilderness skills. As a Spanish speaker, I am comfortable working in Spanish have experience of conducting expeditions and research in South America.
Eryri/Snowdonia Mountain Hikes
Want to explore the mountains and forests of the UK?
Based from my home at the foot of the Carneddau mountains, I am able to guide groups in the mountains of Eryri/Snowdonia and further afield. I have a particular interest in engaging groups of young people with the uplands and forests of the U.K. As a Welsh learner (beginner-intermediate), I would be glad collaborate to deliver sessions bilingually.
Forest Ecology and Bushcraft Instruction
Want specific instruction in the science and uses of UK forests?
With unique access to forest locations near to Eryri national park, I can provide advanced instruction in forest ecology, such as species identification, ecological processes and forest surveying/health assessments. I often partner understanding of forest ecology with bushcraft, where I deliver sessions on fire lighting, shelter building, game preparation, wood carving and tracking.
